Bailable arrest warrants issued for Nawaz Sharif as Maryam, Safdar appear in court

ISLAMABAD: Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the daughter of previous Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and her better half Safdar on Thursday showed up in the Accountability Court regarding corruption references documented against them by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). Two out of 26 NAB’s indictment witnesses are also liable to show up in the court where NAB team is additionally present.

Disqualified Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who was charge-sheeted by the court a week ago in each of the three NAB references, did not turn up at the court since he is in Saudi Arabia; in any case, his legal counselor Khawaja Haris is going to the hearing.

A week ago, Maryam and Safdar were prosecuted in one of the three corruption references.
