Check post firing in Rawalpindi leaves one volunteer dead, two constables injured

RAWALPINDI: One police volunteer was killed and two constables were injured when three men on a bike opened fire after being requested to stop at a check post in Rawalpindi’s Dhoke Hassu region in the early hours of Thursday.

City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Abbasi, addressing a private media outlet, expressed that the check present had been set up on to avert wrongdoings in the region. The authorities ceased the bike over doubt after which the attackers opened fire.

CPO Abbasi additionally expressed that a FIR (First Information Report) of the incident has been enrolled and a police group has been entrusted with capturing the blamed.
