Clash between military and suspected gang leaves 9 dead in southern Mexico

MEXICO CITY: The Mexican military battled back against arm forces in the brutal southwestern territory of Guerrero on Saturday night, leaving eight speculated gang members and one solider dead, authorities said on Sunday.

At around 11 PM, troops were making their rounds in the city of Teloloapan, around 250 kilometers from Mexico City when they went under gunfire from suspected gang members individuals wearing phony military uniforms, Roberto Álvarez Heredia — a representative for the Guerrero Coordinating Group, said in an announcement.

The military secured two vans painted in cover, weapons, and garbs, experts said. A trooper was injured in the encounter and kicked the bucket thereafter from his injuries.

People in general prosecutor’s office in Guerrero, home to the resort city of Acapulco on Mexico’s Pacific coast has started an examination concerning the attack, experts said.
