ECP advises political parties to fulfill provisions of Election Act, 2017

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday exhorted every single political party to satisfy and consent to the arrangements of the Election Act, 2017.

The commission through a notice advised 352 political parties to satisfy the prerequisites to their greatest advantage at the most punctual, inside 60 days from the order of the Act, by December 2, 2017. It additionally requesting that they suggest this to the commission accordingly and on falling flat activity as said in para-2 will be taken.

It said that under area 201, 202, 209 and 210 gives a list of no less than 2,000 individuals with their marks or thumb impressions alongside duplicates of National Identity Cards and evidence of store of two hundred thousand rupees for the Election Commission in State Bank of Pakistan or National Bank of Pakistan as enrollment expense for selection of political gatherings inside 60 days.

It said in the event that an enrolled political party neglects to conform to the arrangements of sub-segment 4 of segment 202, the ECP will cancel the selection of the political party under area 202(5) of the Act.
