The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a show cause to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday, starting contempt procedures against, him. The PTI supremo has been summoned on September 14. He should clarify why the ECP should not start contempt procedures against him.
The notice says that as opposed to presenting an answer to a request of recorded by Akbar Sher Babar in ECP, PTI administrator had presented an audit application containing “disdainful comments against the commission, consequently embarrassing the commission.”
While his direction had later apologized genuinely, the PTI boss had neglected to do likewise, regardless of being given “rehashed openings”.
Babar had then looked for contempt procedures to be started Khan whose activities “seem to have the impact of bringing down the authority” of the ECP and bringing it into “lack of respect and notoriety,” the notice, issued by request of the Election Commission of Pakistan, says.
