Fazal-ur-rehman demands to holding referendum to decide FATA’s future

ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman has demanded holding a referendum in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) to know whether the general population of the range need a merger with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) or need to make a different region.

Talking amid the National Assembly session on Wednesday, Fazl said that there is no disagreement regarding the merger of FATA with KP and they [JUI-F] also did not need a different area, but rather he included that they just request that the general population of FATA be allowed to choose their future. He also said that the ‘Riwaj Act’ was introduced in the House for expanding the ward of the Supreme Court and the high court in FATA and just JUI-F had contradicted it. He included that now everybody is stating that the demonstration was not suitable on the grounds that there are no lower courts.
