Former PM Nawaz Sharif gets 10 years in prison and Maryam 7 in Avenfield case

ISLAMABAD: An accountablility court on Friday condemned former PM Nawaz Sharif to an aggregate of 10 years in jail and ordered him to pay a fine of £8 million subsequent to finding him guilty on various charges in the Avenfield properties case.

Judge Muhammad Bashir found Mr. Sharif guilty of amassing resources past his source of income.

He passed out seven-year detainment to the previous president’s daughter Maryam Nawaz and a fine of £2 million. She has been granted an extra multi year’s detainment on charges of utilizing Calibri textual style to create Avenfield properties trust deeds.

Though, her husband Captain resigned Safdar has been granted one year’s jail term.
