Indian Supreme Court bars offering of namaz at Taj Mahal mosque

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday rejected Muslims to offer namaz at the mosque of Taj Mahal expressing that the landmark’s conservation is of most extreme significance, Indian media announced.

As per the court, the memorable Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders of the world and must be protected. It therefore watched that there shouldn’t be any supplications performed at the landmark.

On January 24 this year, the district administration ordered that exclusive local people having substantial personalities will be allowed entery to the landmark complex to perform prayers on Fridays.

Afterward, a solicitor had moved the SC against the district migistrate order.

Following this, the region organization educated local people to having their identities with them on Fridays to demonstrate they are nationals of Agra.
