IPL 2018: Indian police crack down on IPL betting racket

New Delhi: Indian police have captured three men associated with putting down illegal bets on Indian Premier League matches as specialists get serious about betting rackets that develop around the billion-dollar establishment consistently.

The trio were blamed for running a web based wagering syndicate from a habitation in New Delhi. Almost all betting is illegal in India however is as yet a tremendous underground industry.

“We captured the three on Saturday while they were wagering amid the Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils match,” Youdhbir Singh, a senior cop in Delhi, told AFP on Tuesday.

“They were demanding that they are amateurs and it was thieir first time, yet we realize that they were doing it since the beginning of the class on April 7.”

Eleven cell phones, a workstation, a TV and an advanced channel beneficiary were seized, Singh included.
