Islamabad New International Airport to be inaugurated on August 14, 2017

The introduction of the New Islamabad International Airport has been deferred two or three times in the past because of shameful arranging and blunder. Starting late, things appear to be changing as Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif is more inspired by initiating the venture amid his residency. On January 19, 2017, Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal conversed with the press from the premises of this office, expressing that the PM will initiate the New Islamabad International Airport this year on August 14. Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat’s administrator Senator Talha Mehmood directed a definite visit of the new airplane terminal on Tuesday where he was advised about the pace of development work and was told 97pc of work has been finished.

He was informed that the delay is because of lack of common sense by the National Highway Authority (NHA) as it couldn’t finish street connects to the airplane terminal on time, as per a public statement.

Hopefully the new air terminal won’t confront more delays than it as of now has. It was initially going to be done on December 2016 however it was postponed to June 2017 of course to August. It has been postponed by 5 years and its aggregate cost has surpassed Rs. 100 billion altogether.
