Policeman martyred and many injured in clashes with Faizabad protesters

ISLAMABAD: A policeman was martyred amid conflicts with protestors in Islamabad on Saturday as the security forces fired rubber bullets and hurled tear gas at dissenters who have practically deadened the country’s capital for a considerable length of time to scatter them from Faizabad Interchange.

The about 8,500 world class police and paramilitary troops in revolt outfit started clearing the 2,000 or so demonstrators not long after sunrise, with close-by streets and markets shut. The sit-in by the Tehreek-e-Labaik Ya Rasool Allah Pakistan has blocked the main roadway utilized by a large number of workers since November 6, causing hours-long activity growls and angering suburbanites.

The protestors are requesting that Law Minister Zahid Hamid leave over a quickly surrendered correction to the vow that race applicants must swear.
