Senators with dual nationality to appear before SC today

LAHORE: The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Saturday will choose whether or not the four senators who are accepted to be dual nationality can cast votes in the upcoming elections for the Senate chairman. A three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar, of the pinnacle court, will hear the suo motu case at Lahore Registry.

Three recently chose congresspersons are from ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) while one is subsidiary with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

On Thursday, the SC requested the four recently chose congresspersons to show their affirmations on Saturday expressing that they had disavowed their outside nationalities previously challenging the current Senate elections.
