Sindh High Court seeks replies over plea against $70m given to Maryam by Michelle Obama

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday looked for answers till October 16 over an appeal to looking for a test into the cash given to ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s little girl Maryam Nawaz by previous US president Barack Obama’s wife Michelle Obama.

Amid the hearing, the offended party told the court that Michelle Obama gave $70 million to Maryam for the training of youngsters in Pakistan yet nobody knows where that sum was utilized. The candidate additionally asked for the court to arrange the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to explore the issue so the truth can be followed. The delegate lawyer general said that they have been waiting for answers from the government offices over which the court dismissed the procedure till October 16.

On July 3, 2016, Maryam Nawaz and Michelle Obama launched the “Let Girls Learn” program at the White House, to work intently on growing open doors for instruction of young ladies in Pakistan. Michelle Obama had given $70 million to the Maryam Nawaz for the program.
