Wasim Akram defends Ahmed Shehzad for his batting, rejects criticism

LAHORE: Former Pakistan quick bowler and Multan Sultans’ Director of Cricket Wasim Akram said on Tuesday that Ahmed Shehzad is as yet a match-winner paying little heed to whatever anybody said.

Addressing media staff, the Sultan of Swing said that he didn’t comprehend why people were against Ahmad Shehzad.

“I don’t get why people criticize Ahmed Shehzad,” he said. “He’s as yet youthful and is playing T20 cricket. I believe he’s a match-winer as I would like to think,” he said.

With respect to Hafeez who was suspended a week ago by the ICC for his bowling action, Akram had sound guidance for the previous Pakistan skipper.

“An every single rounder has two weapons and on the off chance that one of them is taken away, he should sustain the other,” said Wasim. “I figure Hafeez should focus on his batting.”
